Iconeek is proud to introduce here a nice, large and attractive, limited edition, stainless steel chronograph by Girard-Perregaux (GP): the Laureato Olimpico. Since the beginning of the 20th century, GP has dedicated a chronograph to every Olympic year and its characteristics have become parts of the brand history. Girard-Perregaux launched the Olimpico line to commemorate the Olympic Games in the 1950s, and for the next 30 years they released different models every four years.

The model was made in a limited edition of 999 pieces and introduced in 1996 for the Atlanta USA J.O. The present watch is engraved « A No. 1 » on the case back, in fact the first watch produced of this limited edition, a rarity!.

The model is a very fine tonneau-shaped, self-winding, water-resistant to 100m, stainless steel wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, tachometer, date and stainless steel Girard-Perregaux bracelet with deployant clasp. The approx. overall length is 180 mm.

The model has a three-body construction: a tonneau-shaped case with round chronograph pushers, a screwed crown, sapphire crystal, a secured by screws octogonal steel bezel. Under the glass, a blue dial with « Clous de Paris » decoration, applied luminous Baton indexes, luminous Baton hands, tachymeter scale, three subsidiary dials with silvered rings for the constant second at 3, the 30-minute register at 9, the 12-hour register at 6, aperture for the date between 4 and 5, an outer tachymeter scale. Under the case back secured by 6 screws, the watch is powered by a caliber 3170-579, rhodium-plated, with 63 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating flat balance spring, shock absorbers with chronograph module. The movement is proudly engraved « GPM » for Girard-Perregaux Manufacture. Dial, case and movement are signed.

A super nice and under-rated large chronograph! No. 1 !
