Iconeek is proud to introduce here a fine and rare, superb and full-set, oversized mechanical platinum, limited edition wristwatch by IWC: the Portugieser F.A Jones. The IWC Portugieser F.A. Jones model was created to commemorate Florentine Ariosto Jones, the daring American businessman who founded IWC in Schaffhausen in 1868. The model was produced in stainless steel, limited edition to 3000 pieces, in 18K pink gold, limited edition to 1000 pieces, and in platinum, limited edition to 500 pieces, such as the present watch.

The model comes with a three-body construction: a large platinum tonneau-shaped case with ball-shaped crown, downturned lugs, a concave polished platinum bezel and a glazed display back secured by six screws on the back.  Under the slightly domed sapphire crystal, we find a mint white dial with painted large black Arabic numerals, white gold Breguet hands, a subsidiary seconds at 6, an outer minute division. Under the sapphire crystal back secured by six screws, we discover a caliber 98290, mechanical, manual winding, rhodium-plated, three quarter plate, finely engraved bridges and plates, with elongated regulator, 18 jewels with gold chatons, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance with timing screws, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, shock-absorbers. Dial, case and movement are signed.

The present watch comes with all its original accessories including the special fitted wooden presentation box with gilt plaque engraved « Portugieser F.A. Jones, Referenz 5442, 140/500 » and outer packaging, IWC Guarantee dated May 2006, operating instructions, booklet on IWC founder F.A. Jones.
