Iconeek is proud to introduce here a nice and attractive, rare version of the famous pre moon Speedmaster Ref. 145.022-69 ST with the « 220 » bezel. Ref. 145.022-69 Pre Moon was produced between 1969 and 1971, with serial numbers ranging from 28.420.xxx to 31.629.xxx. The model is fitted with the « new » caliber 861, launched in 1968 and designed by Albert Piguet and the matte black dial has a painted Omega logo instead of the applied steel one. Ref. 145.022-69 is considered as the last « Pre Moon » model as the case back is jus engraved with the Speedmaster logo.

The model comes with a three-body construction: a large 42 mm. asymmetric tonneau-shaped steel case, water-resistant, with lyre lugs, round chronograph pushers and crown all protected by a crown guard, a snap-on steel black « 220 » bezel, a screwed case back engraved with the Speedmaster logo.

The bezel « 220 », type B2bis in Moon Watch Only book, was in fact a mistake inside the graduation. Produced only during the autumn 1970 and for watches with serial numbers ranging from 30.589.XXX to 31.000.XXX. With serial number 31000327 and production on December 9th, 1970, the present watch belongs to that batch. Under the hesalite glass, we find the stepped matte black dial with painted white Omega logo, tritium painted indexes, minute and 1/5th second division, three subsidiary dials for the 30-minute register at 3, the 12-hour register at 6, the constant second at 9, luminous white Baton hands.

Under the dust cap, we find a caliber Omega 861, copper colored, mechanical, manual winding, with 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic four-arm balance, shock-absorbers, self-compensating flat balance spring. The size between the lugs is 20 mm. Dial, case and movement are signed.

A very similar watch with « 220 » bezel is described and illustrated in Moon Watch Only, by Gregoire Rossier and Anthony Marquié, page 295. The present watch is delivered with an Omega Extract from the Archives confirming production on December, 9th 1970 and its delivery to Germany market.

Condition: 8/10, in very good overall condition, some signs of wear in places, nice patina to the hands and indexes, movement in working condition
