Fabien Chicha
Fabien Chicha first discovered his penchant for timekeepers while a young boy visiting his great uncle in Paris, an excellent watchmaker who was also a lover of antique clocks and watches. Fabien’s destiny was set in motion.
Fabien trained six years in watchmaking and received a DMA (Diploma of Metiers d’Art) as a watch and clock restoration technician. He furthered his education by as graduating from the prestigious WOSTEP program. Recognizing his talent, auction house Antiquorum recruited Fabien to join the team in 2000. In just two years he was appointed Workshop Director. He quickly moved up the ranks at Antiquorum. By 2005 he was promoted first to Assistant Watch Expert and shortly thereafter to Watch Expert, where he valued and catalogued watches for auction. In addition, he interfaced with collectors worldwide, providing advice during valuation days and exhibitions.
Fabien has contributed to many prestigious sales: The Sandberg Watch Collection (2001), The Private Collection of Theodor Beyer (2003), Antiquorum ‘s 30th Anniversary (2004), The Quarter Millennium of Vacheron Constantin (2005), The Mondani Collection of Rolex Wristwatches (2006), Omegamania (2007), and The Collection of a European Nobleman (2008).
In 2011, Fabien joined Christie’s Geneva watch team as a Specialist and Senior Cataloguer. He contributed to the huge and impressive results of the worldwide auctions, including the Rolex Daytona Lesson 1 (2013).
With 25 years in the watch business, Fabien has built up an international reputation as a vintage and modern Watch Specialist. He maintains an important network of clients, collectors, watch aficionados and professionals. He has established excellent relationships with museums, galleries, luxury brands, institutions and auction houses. As an independant watch expert, Fabien is consultant for the most demanding collectors worldwide.
