Thickness 10.25 mm. The name "Pasha" is said to come from a model created by Cartier in 1933-34 for Pasha Thami El Glaoui, a prosperous Moroccan man who asked the French jeweler for a waterproof watch that he could wear while swimming. It was as a tribute to this man and his waterproof watch that Cartier later decided to give its sporty-chic model the name Pasha. The design of this iconic timepiece is attributed to Gerald Genta, the famous watch designer celebrated this year for the 50th anniversary of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch.
