LECOULTRE, chronograph, Ref. E-2644, circa 1969 A very unusual, rare and attractive, hand wound, stainless steel chronograph’s wristwatch with azure blue “vignette” dial and silvered registers. Fitted with Cal. Valjoux 72, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, manual winding, column-wheel chronograph mechanism Dial signed LeCoultre, case and movement signed LeCoultre & Co. Diam. 35 mm. Thickness 13.50 mm. ★★ Est. CHF 7’000 – 10’000 Ref. E-2644 is a very rare timepiece and there is no real documentation available on the model. Jaeger-LeCoultre patrimony confirms us the production of this model for the United States circa 1969. At the time, the movements were provided by the house Valjoux and were not numbered. The caseback is engraved "stainless steel", whereas the inside of the back bears the reference E-2644. The model is also featuring a very unusual two-tone dial, a vibrant azure blue color with contrasting guilloche silvered subsidiary register dials, applied round indexes with blue accents and an outer white tachymeter scale.
