Ellipse d’Or, Ref. 3548J/001, movement no. 1221820, case no. 2738970, made in 1974, retailed by Beyer and sold in August 1974.

A very fine, rare and attractive, oval-shaped, hand wound, 18K yellow gold wristwatch with grey-blue patinated and discolored dial, applied gold baton indexes, gold Baton hands, gold bracelet.

Fitted with cal. 23-300PM, rhodium-plated, manual winding, 18 jewels, stamped twice with the Seal of Geneva, self-compensating blued steel Breguet balance spring, Gyromax balance, shock absorbers, solid gold snap on case back, sapphire crystal.
Dial signed by maker and retailer, case and movement signed.
Dim. 27 x 32 mm. Thickness 6.15 mm. Total approx. overall length is 145 mm. (Please note that the wrist size is small, and would only fit a lady's small wrist)

Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives and the Certificate of Origin.

The Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirms production of the present watch in 1974 and its consequent sale in July1974 with gold bracelet. While the Certificate of origin stamped POOK for 07.74 (July 1974) also confirms the blue dial with raised gold indexes and the retail of the watch on August 1974 at Beyer Chronometrie.
A similar watch, Ref. 3548, in white gold, is described and illustrated in Patek Philippe in America, Vol. I, by John Reardon, page 119.
