Golden Janus, Ref. 042.400, limited edition no. 077/150, made in 1994

A rare and superb condition, manual winding, limited edition, platinum and 18K pink gold rectangular, curved and reversible, double dials, dual time zone wristwatch with jumping hour, night and day indication, date and an 18K pink gold and steel UG folding clasp.

Fitted with a caliber UG42-83, hand wound, mechanical, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, lever escapement, Glucydur balance adjusted to 3 positions, Incabloc system, self-compensating flat balance spring, four-body construction, main cage in platinum, engraved inside with the inscription "100 ans de tradition horlogère, 1894-1994, Modèle No. 077/150" and engraved outside with the Universal Watch logo and the effigy of Janus, reversible 18K pink gold cradle with gold lever, engraved on one side "1894" and on the other "1994", fixing the cradle to the platinum body, gold screwed bars to secured the strap.

Dials, case and movement signed.
Dim. 42.75 x 26.40 mm. Thickness 9.50 mm.

Accompanied by the original book-shaped presentation box and blank warranty booklet.

The model is inspired by Universal Geneve Cabriolet wristwatches made between 1927 to 1929. Under Ref. 042.400, the Golden Janus model was made in a limited edition of 150 pieces to mark the 100th anniversary of the brand 1894-1994. Universal Geneve was established in 1894 by Numa Emile Descombes and Ulysse Georges Perret. The present example is number 77 out of 150 pieces.
