Launched in summer 2004, the L.U.C PRO ONE was the first diver’s watch with movement L.U.C. Launched in 2007, the L.U.C Chopard Pro One Cadence, Limited Edition to only 1000 pieces, pays tribute to the D35 Cadence ship and its amazing results during regattas. « D35 is a 35 feet long (10.81 metres) racing catamaran and built to a standard specification, consisting entirely of cutting edge technological materials enable it to maneuver in demanding sailing conditions with a top speed of 30 knots. Cadence, owned by Jean-François Demole, a friend of Chopard Co-President Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, is one of the racing teams in the regattas on Lake Geneva for the Decision 35s (D35), supported by Chopard Manufacture. The crew has performed well and in the first race (on 12 to 13 May 2007) of the 2007 Challenge Julius Baer, the Grand Prix Chopard, Cadence finished fourth. L.U.C. stands for Louis-Ulysse Chopard, the brand’s founder, who was only 24 when he started the legendary maison in Sonvilier in 1860.
Built in a solid large 42 mm. stainless steel case, the Pro One is like an oyster, thanks to its screw-down crown and case back. The watch is fitted with the caliber 96H24 featuring serially operating spring barrels for a power reserve of 65 hours max and certified chronometer. The bi-directionnal rotating black bezel is graduated for 24 hours. The case back is engraved with a compass. Under the sapphire crystal, a superb silvered dial with engine-turned center, luminous hands, applied blackened dart indexes, sweep center second, aperture for the date at 3. Dial, case and movement are signed. In 2011, the retail price of the Pro One Gmt (not limited edition) was around 7’290.- Euros.
