Iconeek is proud to introduce here a very attractive and mint large aviator’s wristwatch: The Grosse Fliegeruhr.

Tribute to the first 1940s aviator’s wristwatch, The Grosse Fliegeruhr, more commonly referred to as the “Big Pilots Watch”, is one of the most recognized and iconic IWC watches. The reference 5002 was the first Big Pilots Watch and is based after pilot’s watches of the 1940’s.  This watch has a militaristic style and features a large 46mm water-resistant case, with soft iron antimagnetic cap to protect the movement. The early Big Pilot Watches have a cult following and are becoming more desirable by collectors. The present watch is set with a two body construction. The tonneau-shaped, brushed and polished, stainless steel water-resistant case is set with a stepped and inclined bezel, a sapphire crystal, down-turned brushed lugs, screw down large crown. The plain case back is screwed.

Under the glass, a highly lisible matte black dial with painted large luminous arabic numerals, luminous Lozange hands, an aperture for the gold rimmed date at 6, an outer minute/second railway division, a white sweep center second, a 7 days power reserve indication at 3.

This superb watch is powered by a caliber C5011, rhodium-plated, 44 jewels, adjusted 5 positions, monometallic balance with timing screws, Breguet balance spring, shock absorbers, Pellaton automatic winding mechanism.  In 2006, the retail price was around 10’700.- Euros for the steel version and 37’700 Euros for the platinum one. Dial, case and movement are signed. The watch comes with a brown leather strap with rivets and an IWC steel deployant clasp. The actual retail of the similar model is around 15’900.- CHF.
