Tudor introduced the Tiger chronograph in 1996 following on the Tudor Oysterdate Chrono Time ref. 79180 “Big Block” . The chronograph was released with the name TIGER in bold red under the minute counter of the watch. This was the first time that Tudor (or Rolex for that matter) was printing the name of  a sportsman or celebrity on the dial of one of its reference, as Tiger Wood was the new ambassador of the brand. The model has a three-body construction: a polished and brushed steel tonneau-shaped case, screwed-down case back, crown and buttons, black bezel with tachometer graduation to 500 UPH, “Triplock” winding-crown, sapphire crystal with cyclops lens.

Sold in 2000, the present  Tiger Prince Date, Automatic, “Chrono-Time,”  chronograph  Ref. 79260 has a case made by Rolex. The model is a fine self-winding, water resistant to 100 m, stainless steel wristwatch with date, round button chronograph, registers, tachometer and a stainless steel Tudor bracelet with deployant clasp. The model is powered by a caliber Valjoux 7750, rhodium-plated, 25 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring, micrometer regulator, hack mechanism. Under the sapphire crystal with magnified window for date, we discover a two-tone, black dial with applied baton indexes, luminous dots, outer 1/5th seconds division, subsidiary dials for the seconds, the 30-minute and 12-hour registers, aperture for the date, luminous Baton hands. This watch is fitted with the inscription “T Swiss Made T” for tritium dots, the earlier versions being fitted with the “T Swiss T” only, while the latest ones are written only with “Swiss Made”, because of the use of Luminova. It is furthermore complete with the original certificate and box. Dial, case, movement and bracelet are signed.
